If you’re interested in setting yourself a rewarding and enjoyable challenge to help raise money for charity this year, then look no further than the Rock Pound the Bounds walks, which aims to raise essential funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
Registration is now open for the popular Worcestershire walks, which take place on Sunday 3rd May from Rock Village Hall near Kidderminster, and walkers of all abilities are being encouraging to sign up via the official website at www.poundthebounds.org.uk
Rock Pound the Bounds is now in its 15th year and takes in some of the most glorious Worcestershire countryside views. Depending on ability, participants can join the 26, 18, 12, nine or six mile walks, while families are invited to take part in a three mile treasure trail.
Henk Buzink leads the organising committee of Rock Pound the Bounds, he said: “Year on year our event has continued to grow in popularity and it’s fantastic to see so many people, young and old taking advantage of our organised walks.
“The event is also a terrific way for people to demonstrate their support of such a good cause – the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and we hope all the walkers will encourage friends and family to sponsor them to take part.”
Maria Jones, regional fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, added: “We are once again very excited to be the beneficiary charity of Rock Pound the Bounds. The event is one of the biggest fundraisers in our calendar, and last year those who took part helped to raise over £5,600, which was an incredible achievement.”
As well as attending some of the most traumatic and life threatening incidents across the region, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity also airlifts patients from remote parts of the countryside where land ambulances just can’t reach. As a proportion of the air ambulance missions undertaken by the service include walkers, Rock Pound the Bounds is an excellent way for the public to demonstrate their support of the vital service.
Registration and sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the Pound the Bounds website: www.poundthebounds.org.uk or contact Susan Humphries, one of the event organisers via 01299 400304 or email@example.com for more information.
