This is a well designed mid-weight technical thermal fleece hoodie that looks good, but is also flexible enough to accommodate different body shapes, extra layers and different uses. The fabric has a good amount of 4 way stretch, cuffs are elastic bound and there’s an adjustable draw cord hem. The sleeves are fairly long for me, which I like, so it feels comfortable using the thumb loops and the elastic cuffs can then be placed in a comfortable position, and actually stay put. I found this fleece to be fairly warm, but as I run quite cold it has been used more as part of a layering system, and only used on its own during Scottish summers. I appreciate the high neck, and the soft chin guard did not cause any chaffing, with the hood either up or down. The hood is fairly close fitting – a helmet goes over the top, a beanie underneath. It has a front zip and 2 zipped hand/side pockets which all have corded zip pulls for ease of use – these are fine when wearing gloves.
▶Verdict: Good looking and versatile layering piece.
▶Best for: Everything from crags to bikes and bimbles with the kids.
