This shoe definitely lives up to its name. It is an everyday trail shoe which can be put through its paces time and again. It has good lugs providing excellent grip on a variety surfaces, both trail and road. The sole is flexible and the upper is light and breathable. The toe box feels particularly spacious and airy, so no cramped toes. The shoe weighs only 240g, something I noticed as soon as I put them on. There is a low level of cushioning which you may feel if you are used to more padded trail shoes. This took a little while to get used to, feeling a little hard underfoot initially. The quicklace system is easy to adjust and eliminates loose laces, the toggle fits away in a pouch on the tongue. If you get them very muddy the outer is easy to clean and dries fairly quickly.

▶ Verdict: Flexible and minimally cushioned for regular use.

▶ Best for: Running as often and as far as you like.
