Pretty incredible value for this well-appointed and smartly presented bike Jersey, available through the Sportspursuit website. It’s made from a super soft Poly blend, with the brushed fabric next to the skin. It’s a fairly dense weave so keeps some windchill at bay, with mesh panels on the sides of the torso for ventilation. Synthetic fabrics have moved on from the old ‘smelly helly’ days and this resists the dreaded pong, washes well and dries really quickly. There’s the usual array of pockets at the rear – 4, plus a small zippered one – for snacks, electronics, keys and so on. The tapered back features a rubberised hem to prevent the top riding up, and the sleeves are a good length and cover the wrists when riding. The main zipper is low profile and has a placket at the top to prevent snagging. Rivelo kit seems to come up very small (I don’t think it’s all middle aged spread!) and I’d have preferred a large rather than a medium. I also found it a touch chilly for Scottish riding outside of summer conditions… so choose accordingly. Otherwise, it’s hard to find fault with this.
▶ Best for: Milder, mixed weather road, gravel and touring.
▶ Verdict: Smart and excellent value cycling top, but you may need to size up.
