From £360 www.patagonia.com
Patagonia have designed this bag to be as light as possible with 850 fill power goose down. At 734g it is very light, packs down small and it did keep me warm to the stated comfort rating of -1°C, but for the £360 price tag I was expecting a little more. The two-way half zip is a lovely design feature which means that there is less chance for cold spots and its position down the front of the bag was good for allowing better mobility without having to open the whole bag. While the bag is spacious, it would have been better if the zip was just a little longer to below the knees to help you wriggle out of it more easily. The biggest issue for me, was no matter how much I tightened the drawcord around my face, there was still a gap which let in cold air. Available in three sizes.
► Verdict: A high price for ‘not-quite-perfect’, but still good.
► Best for: Environmentally conscious folks who want a lightweight bag.
