The first thing you notice about these shorts, other than their cheerful colour, is how flexible they are when you move. They are slim fitting and hug my thighs, but also stretch with every movement making them very comfortable. The water-resistant fabric helps to keep off lighter showers for a short time, and even once wet they dry very quickly thanks to the thin fabric. This also means washing and drying them is a fairly efficient process. There are five pockets, but they are small and not very useful, other than the security pocket, which is good for a credit card. The black belt wasn’t necessary because they fit so well, but it’s there if you need it.
► Verdict: Comfortable and water resistant, but not very useful pockets.
► Best for: Any trekking, particularly with dynamic movement.
