This is something of the odd one out in this test, designed perhaps more for snowsports and less for general outdoor use, but it’s an innovative piece regardless. The Eco is completely waterproof, insulated with 700 fill power down and made from 100% recycled, PFC free materials. The sleeves are loosely elasticated, the hem and hood have drawcords and the cut is loose and allows for plenty of movement; so great for layering up underneath and managing ski gloves, goggles and helmets too. There are two large fleece-lined and zippered handwarmer pockets and two internal drop pockets. What surprised me most was the warmth; despite the down baffles being stitched through and the waterproof outer being both slightly stiff and bulky, it’s still plenty warm once inside and zipped up.
►Verdict: A highly innovative and very eco-friendly waterproof puffy jacket.
►Best for: Snowsports – skiing and snowboarding.
