Just two hours’ drive from Dubai, this incredible and unique trek takes place amongst the ‘fjords of Arabia’. After taking boats to old fishing villages, you will trek through wadis, canyons, mountains and dramatic coastline. You’ll visit remote villages before camping in the desert with campfires under a night sky strewn with stars.
The trek will take you from the coastal town of Dibba, following ancient footpaths between abandoned villages before climbing into the mountains to reach the summit of Gebel Qihwi at 1,800m. During the days you’ll be dwarfed by mountains, carved out through the limestone over millennia. The harsh climate and arid lands add to the difficulty of this trek, as you follow trails that Omani villagers would have used centuries ago.
This spectacular challenge offers you a fantastic sense of achievement at the end and the chance to experience the traditional way of Omani life. Experience a week away from other climbers and tourists, with challenging terrain and breath-taking summit views.
