Keswick Mountain Festival has announced details of a new attraction for this year’s event. Open from 15–17 May, The Berghaus Adventure Hub will be the starting point for many of the festival’s outdoor activities and will also give visitors the chance to win prizes and meet three of the UK’s most high profile outdoor personalities – Sir Chris Bonington, Leo Houlding and Steve Birkinshaw.
Visitors can meet the three athletes to ask them questions and even pose for ‘adventure selfies’. Steve Birkinshaw will visit the hub from 10:00am-2:00pm on Friday 15 May; Leo Houlding will be in residence from 10:00am-12:00 noon on the Saturday; and on Sunday 16 May, Sir Chris Bonington will meet festival goers from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
The Hub will also run ‘#MyKeswickAdventure’, a competition designed to encourage visitors to share photos of their experiences during Keswick Mountain Festival. Images uploaded to Twitter and Instagram using the #MyKeswickAdventure hashtag will be used to create a gallery with the best of them winning a range of prizes, including Berghaus kit. Everyone who uploads an image will also be able to claim a goody bag from the hub.
The Berghaus Adventure Hub will be located in the Festival Village on the shore of Derwentwater, for more information visit:
