Fjӓllrӓven is offering individuals the chance to play a crucial part in its important Save the Arctic Fox project this summer, with an exciting competition.
Fjӓllrӓven’s namesake, the Arctic Fox was one of Scandinavia’s earliest inhabitants. Unfortunately, overhunting at the start of the last century left the Arctic Foxes’ population severely depleted and the breed has struggled to recover. Climate change, insufficient access to food and increased competition from the red fox has led to the Arctic Fox becoming under severe threat of extinction.
The Save the Arctic Fox project is an initiative by Fjӓllrӓven which sees the company working with Arctic Fox expert Professor Anders Angerbjörn from Stockholm University. The project aims to research into the breed and its habitat in order to support conservation efforts and increase the number of Arctic Foxes in the Swedish Mountains.
The competition Prizes
If you would like to volunteer to support the Save the Arctic Fox project this summer, Fjӓllrӓven is offering outdoor enthusiasts the chance to win a place on this year’s team. The winner will be taken on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Swedish mountains in July 2015. Provided with the essential equipment required to live and eat in the great outdoors for 10 days, the competition’s winners will support Professor Angerbjörn and PHD student Rasmus on the Save the Arctic Fox project’s crucial work.
