This is a close fitting and nicely styled baselayer that blends merino wool and polyester. All the seams are flatlocked and very comfortable and there’s a good-sized front zip for ventilation. The mix of materials is a plus – the synthetics means it dries fairly quickly while the wool component keeps the worst of the whiffs at bay, at least for a while. It’s long enough in the waist and arms not to ride up, and the sleeves can easily be pushed above the elbow for more ventilation. In cooler conditions, it’s very comfortable. When the thermometer reaches double digits, though, I found this overly warm and even a little itchy to wear. Those seams and the colour scheme are beautifully done, but for me, this is a top for autumn and winter only. Weight approx. 190g.
▶ Best for: Walking and biking in cooler temperatures.
▶ Verdict: Nicely made, but warm and itchy.
