Very light at 309g, this is a summer weight shell with a small pack size. Salomon don’t state which membrane they are using to keep water at bay, but it breathes reasonably well and I’ve not had any problems in it in heavy rain on a number of outings. The fabric has a soft handle and a light stretch. I’m not a fan of the floppy hood as although adjustable, it lacks depth, but is adequate in a jacket of this type. I do however really like the unusual side zip vents, which are very effective.
VERDICT: A grab and go summer shell.
BEST FOR: Trek and travel.
