A new brand for me, and a well-made, very stretchy top for running (run-derwear – geddit?) that also works well in other arenas. The fabric is a polymide and elastane mix and incorporates gridded panels on the back, hips and wrists to improve breathability. It does wick well but I found it quite thick and very warm, something not helped by the lack of zip ventilation at the neck. The sleeves have clever built in mitts, meaning you can cover your hands if it gets too cold, and this suggests the top is made with cold weather running in mind. For me, this was quick to smell but it washed well and dried quickly, ready for the next outing. It’s not quite seamless but those that do exist are tucked away and low profile. This is way too warm for me to run in during the summer, but I think it will come into its own over winter. Weight around 225g.
▶ Best for: Cold weather activities, especially running.
▶ Verdict: A stretchy warm baselayer with good wicking properties and handy built in mitts.
