Filled with the latest 60g/m² PrimaLoft Gold Active Insulation, it copes well with moisture, whether the source is a warm active person or a damp environment, and dries really quickly. Thanks to the superb properties of the insulation and the lightweight Quantum Pertex shell, the weight comes in at just 301g, by far the warmest jacket for its weight that I tested. The insulation level is about right for me on winter lunch-stops, or chucked on at the summit in preparation for a descent. It stuffs easily in to its own chest pocket.
VERDICT: Very warm-for-its-weight synthetic layer.
BEST FOR: Damp and wintry mountain days.
