This is a lightweight trail running shoe with a slight nod to the barefoot running ethos, with a 6mm drop between heel and forefoot and very flexible synthetic uppers. As previously mentioned, I’m not a proper runner, and whilst I got on well with the Salomon Speedcross, I found these too unsupportive for me on very rough terrain. There is a bit of underfoot protection from sharp objects, but my foot rolled about and I didn’t feel confident or stable on unpredictable ground. I did however find them excellent for knocking around easy trails and beaches. The chunky circular lugs on the outsole give good grip when doing a bit of minor off-roading. The lightweight mesh uppers breath really well, and the 360 Degrees Hyper Wrap fit system helps the uppers to wrap the foot really nicely when laced. For me, a great all day shoe, well suited to my varied outdoor life, bouncing from beach to bike to trail without having to change my footwear.
