The main innovation incorporated into this pack is the position of the hip bet in relation to the lumbar support. Lowe Alpine have found this should be offset for women and this feature did feel comfortable. There are a variety of zipped compartments and the main compartment could be accessed from the top and also a large u-shaped zip on the front, great when you need something you have packed at the bottom. Despite this there were 1 or frustrations. The hip belt pockets are positioned on the side of the body and are small and very curved, so fitting anything rigid inside is a struggle. A small camera could be forced into them but definitely not a smart phone or GPS. When the main compartment is full the side pockets are also very tight, I struggled to fit 1 litre drinks bottle in them. Finally, the chest strap’s position is adjustable but the plastic toggles had a tendency to pop out regularly, which got annoying quickly!
► Verdict: Some good innovations but also some niggles.
► Best for: Lightweight walking and trekking.
