Need to shed some light on the situation? The new MH10 headtorch from Ledlenser emits 600 gobsmacking lumens of the white, bright stuff at full power. With a maximum focused beam length of 150m, on test it felt a bit like it could light the moon. In theory full power lasts five hours, but it’s at the middle power range that the torch feels most versatile, kicking out 250 lumens for up to nine hours. At this level it’s a reassuring navigation aid for emergencies, and useful for people working outdoors at night. The Li-ion battery charges fully from a mains source in six hours via a micro USB cable. All that oomph is quite chunky at 158g, including battery, but the power to weight ratio when compared to competitors is enviable.
VERDICT: A simple, no gimmicks, powerful headlamp.
BEST FOR: When only the brightest beam will do.
