The most noticeable difference with this shoe is the rocker, which you will feel from the moment you put them on. Combined with the 4mm heel drop this made a significant difference to my running style, encouraging me to push off from further up the shoe, which should improve efficiency. They are light, weighing 348g, and have a spacious toe box which allows your toes to naturally spread out, while the rest of the upper hugs your foot to minimise rubbing and debris getting into the shoe. They are ideal if you have low ankle bones because the support doesn’t come too high up the side of your foot. This, combined with the cushioning in the midsole, made them incredibly comfortable, even when running longer distances. The sole utilises 5mm lugs which give an excellent level of grip on a variety of terrain, both wet and dry. The Gore-Tex lining works, minimising soggy socks. They use a simple lacing system, and there were no issues with laces coming undone mid-run. The tongue is a little rigid, but you’re onto a winner if that’s the only niggle in an otherwise superb shoe.

▶Verdict: Incredibly comfortable and excellent performance.

▶Best for: Everything, from short trail hits to mega marathons.
