Alpkit reckon this has a -6c limit, and I’d say that’s about right. I found it very warm for its size and weight, perhaps due to the box wall construction. There’s a fair sized zip baffle and a beefy one around the neck. The fit is roomy, and a full length, 2-way zip means you aren’t fighting your way out of it in the dark for a call of nature! It scores well on the environmental front, filled with 750fill of water resistant, RDS certified goosedown, and that water treatment is Bluesign approved and PFC and PFOA free. The down does move around a little in the bag, so it needs shaking out and lofting properly to avoid cold spots when the mercury dips to 0. It compresses well and the weight is good too – 872g on my scales. It comes in 2 sizes and left or right-hand zip options. The brand reckon it can be used as a winter liner, too, so bonus points for modularity.
► Verdict: A well specified, compact and water resistant 3 season down bag.
► Best for: Camping on the move – backpacking, bikepacking, Alpine adventures with a bivy.
