Award-winning watch brand Elliot Brown has been selected as the Official Timekeeper of the world’s longest ocean race – the Clipper 2015/16 Round the World Yacht Race.
There’s no mistaking, Elliot Brown watches are designed to be tough and built to last. In the past the watches have been put through a number of rigorous tests and survived. As Official Timekeeper for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race the ultimate test commences on 30th August.
Built to go the distance during the 40,000 nautical mile, 11 month-long circumnavigation, Elliot Brown watches will be worn by skippers and crew.
To celebrate the 10th running of this inspiring race and as role of Official Timekeeper, Elliot Brown is producing 1000 numbered special edition Clipper Race crew member watches – the Canford 202-015. The watch sports a shock-protected Swiss movement, effective resistance to water and dust courtesy of a unique triple sealing system and uncommonly ‘every’ model is tested in water to 200m.
Each watch comes with a premium leather black deployant strap, as well as a black canvas deployant with contrasting red stitching – all stunningly packaged in a box with two screwdrivers (for strap changing) and a numbered commemorative insert. The special edition case back is beautifully engraved and numbered with ‘crew edition’ and Clipper Race detailing. It retails at £395 from www.elliotbrownwatches.com and is available to pre-order now.
The search is on for the Elliot Brown onboard ambassador: a crew member who will wear the timepiece throughout the race, reporting back on the challenges during circumnavigation via blogs, photos and videos.
Clipper Race Chairman and Founder Sir Robin Knox-Johnston comments: “The Elliot Brown brand is a great fit as a partner for the Clipper Race with the extremely tough conditions the crew withstand during their journey just as their timepieces are extremely durable. We look forward to seeing them achieving great things through their sponsorship and all the opportunities available for the company as Official Timekeeper”.
Ian Elliot, Elliot Brown co-founder adds: “We are delighted to be selected as Official Timekeeper for one of the biggest challenges of the natural world – the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Our watches hit back at harsh conditions and are well equipped for this endurance test like no other of its kind. Plus, they look great whether with a shirt or foul weather gear”.
