Biden suggests Putin is a ‘dictator’ who committed ‘genocide half a world away’

Washington – President Joe Biden The rise in gas prices shriveled and led by the “dictator” who committed a “crime of genocide against the other half of the world” in a speech he delivered on Tuesday, if it was a clear reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the invasion of Ukraine.

In remarks in Iowa, the president recently blamed Putin Rising prices in the pump. “Your family budget, your ability to fill your tank, none of it should depend on whether a dictator declares war and commits genocide half a world away,” Biden said.

The president had stopped short of calling the atrocities in Bucha a genocide on April 5, when reporters asked him if Russian actions there fit that definition. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said at the time that the killings documented to date in Ukraine did not amount to “genocide” as defined by the US government.

The State Department has a lengthy internal process to determine whether a mass killing amounted to genocide, including gathering evidence over a period of time.

The United States defines genocide as “an act against members of a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group with intent to destroy, in whole or in part.”
