The BJP has won three major elections, and a secondary leadership of the KCR in Telangana

Election results: Counting begins at 8 am, and results are usually expected by noon.

New Delhi:

After the first few rounds of counting, the BJP is leading in JJ Gokaranath in Uttar Pradesh, Adampur in Haryana state and Damnagar in Odisha state as vote counting began on Sunday in sub-districts of seven constituencies in six states. The party also held a seat in Bihar which is in the main district of the party leader and former Prime Minister Lalu Yadav, father of Deputy Prime Minister Tegashui Yadav.

Meanwhile, the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) party won the Mokama Council seat with more than 16,000 votes.

In Telangana, K Chandrashekar’s Telangana Rashtriya Samethi team leads in Munugode, while the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray is poised to win the Andheri East seat in Mumbai.

While the results are likely to upset the mathematics of current state governments, the competitions are seen as a battle for family legacy in Haryana and battles for prestige in Telangana, Bihar and Maharashtra.

With regional parties forging a united front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections – just a year and a half later – the poll results could be booster shots, or perception breaches, depending on the results.

The fierce battle is between the BJP and regional parties like Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Samajwadi Party (SP), and Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
