Russian military operations killed more than 100 dolphins in one month

MThe head of the research department of the Tuzly Estuaries National Park condemned this Monday that more than 100 dolphins died off the coast of Crimea in April.

Ivan Rusev said Russian submarine and boat operations in the Black Sea were the “main factor” in animal deaths.

Dolphins “were found in the bays of Sevastopol and other Crimean coasts and not far from Novorossiysk, Sochi, Gelendzhik, Anapa.”

The animals – most of them bottlenose dolphins – suffered “injuries”, with symptoms “supposed to be caused by military sonar”.

Rusev speculated that the actual number of dolphin deaths would be much higher, perhaps more than 1,000.

“I am the voice of the voiceless nature, like my colleagues in Ukraine and abroad and many others, I will fight for nature and for my country Ukraine until victory. Ukraine will definitely be reborn” , the expert emphasized.

The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, which began on February 24 last year, has plunged Europe into what is considered the worst security crisis since World War II (1939-1945).
