Lamar Jackson won’t be playing this week and it’s uncertain if he’ll be back in time for next week’s elimination game.

said Ravens coach John Harbaugh Tyler Huntley He has a good opportunity to start Sunday’s game against Cincinnati, despite dealing with a tendon problem in his shoulder. But Jackson’s presence will be key for Baltimore in the postseason. And at this point, the Crows aren’t sure if he’ll be able to practice next week, let alone play.

“There are really no updates on that. And that’s the biggest thing I know that fans, the media and everyone else might get a little frustrated with. It’s kind of in his nature,” Harbaugh said in his press conference. “When we have an update, you’ll definitely get it. But injuries are hard to predict. … And sometimes people think, well, he’s hiding something or something — which he’s really not. I might hide something sometimes, but not in this case.

“But the truth is, We don’t really know. I know everyone works as hard as they can. Lamar works as hard as he can. The coaches work as hard as they can. And I can’t wait for him to come back, obviously, just like everyone else. So, this is where we are. He will not play in this game. We’ll be optimistic for next week and see where we are now.”

Jackson has since suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the Ravens’ win over the Broncos on December 4. Huntley took over and Baltimore went 2-2 in their last four games.

Not being able to play in the wild card round would be a definite blow to Baltimore’s championship ambitions, regardless of their opponent.

Huntley himself said he felt he had a good chance of playing on Sunday. But if he can’t, the Ravens will turn to the rookie quarterback Anthony Brown. With Huntley limited, Brown took over the coaching reps and Harbaugh said the rookie would be ready to go if needed.

Given the resolution passed for postseason changes on Friday, the Ravens still have a chance to host an opening round game if they defeat the Bengals on Sunday and are scheduled to play next weekend. This will be determined by flipping the coin.

Baltimore’s full infection report will be released later Friday.
