New York (CNN) Fried Kentucky Fried Chicken Brings back Legend after nearly a decade.
The “KFC Double Down” will be back for a limited time, starting March 6th. The instantly recognizable design replaces the bread in a typical sandwich and uses two fried chicken fillets as a bun. Between two slices of cheese, bacon and choice of mayonnaise or condiment sauce.
Double Down debuted in 2010 and has sold over 10 million sandwiches. Despite this, the chain said at the time that it was sales of the sandwich were “immaterial” Analysts said Double Down’s sales fell short of expectations. But the Double Down “made more buzz than any test market item in KFC’s history,” she said.

She reappeared in 2014 briefly before disappearing from the series’ listings. But KFC said fans have been “calling back” the sandwich, so the chain is “answering the call” by bringing it back.
Next week, KFC will also add a more traditional offering for customers “who aren’t quite sure about embracing a ‘no bun’ life.” It’s a bacon and cheese chicken sandwich that uses a brioche bun.
These additions come when KFC recently removed some of its menu items, including wings, popcorn chicken, and biscuits, to make room for new additions.

Recently, Chick-fil-A started testing first ever vegan sandwich, Which replaces the chicken with cauliflower. McDonald’s recently rebranded its existing line of crispy chicken sandwiches as the McCrispy.
