Ellis Brigham is working with homeless charities across the UK to recycle outdoor gear and give it a second life.
There are an estimated 320,000 people homeless in the UK and these individuals need good quality clothing and equipment to keep them dry and warm on the streets.
Did you know the estimated value of unused clothing in wardrobes is around £30 billion with up to £140 million worth of clothing going into landfill each year?
Ellis Brigham has launched the ‘2nd Life’ initiative to reduce the environmental impact of sending clothes to landfill, whilst providing the homeless with unused clothes to help protect them from the elements.
You can help by donating sleeping bags, outdoor jackets, trousers, fleeces, hats and base layers. There are three drop off points or you can call their customer services department to arrange a collection. Ellis Brigham will receive, sort and rehome items via two charities, Barnabus in Manchester and SCT in London.
So, go rummage through your cupboards and help give your unwanted outdoor clothing a more meaningful 2nd life!
