Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to visit separatist areas of Ukraine controlled by Russian military forces “soon,” the Russian president indicated on Saturday.
“Putin will visit Donbass soon,” announced Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by the official Tass news agency. “I hope it happens in time, because it is [um território] It is part of the Russian Federation,” he underlined.
On October 5, Putin signed a decree on the annexation of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson to the Russian Federation. The four zones were annexed by holding referendums deemed illegal by Ukraine, the United States and allies.
Peskov also assured that the military recruitment process in Russia is “finished”.
The military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24 has already displaced more than 13 million people — more than six million internally displaced and more than 7.8 million to European countries — according to the latest UN data. The refugee crisis ranks as the worst in Europe since World War II (1939-1945).
