A British woman found worms in a sauce dispenser at a McDonald’s in Gloucestershire, England. A video of the discovery was shared on Facebook.
Carly Ormerod, 34, wrote in the caption of a video she shared on social media last Friday: “Don’t use McDonald’s sauce dispensers.”
“My daughter and her friend went to get the sauce and they found larvae. I would say about 30 to 40,” the woman told the US newspaper. New York Post. “There were flies and maggots that must have had some time to breed like that,” he added.
Armerod said he alerted the restaurant’s staff and they “tried to hide the scene from the eyes of the customers”, but everyone was “horrified”.
After Ormerod’s complaint, the restaurant chain released a statement and assured that “food safety and hygiene are very important to us, and we are more disappointed than we expected by this incident.”
“Our dispensers area is checked daily and once a case is brought to the attention of the concerned restaurant team, the dispensers are immediately removed, cleaned and sanitized”, the note continues.
