The arc blast is a 55 litre ultra-light pack designed with thru hiking in mind. Weighing only 573g it is surprisingly capable and carries loads up to 15kg. It comfortably holds a three season ultra-light gear setup meant for wild camping plus several days of food. The signature metal frame, giving the pack its name, can be arced to optimise fit and create airflow between your back and the pack. As with most ultralight packs the Arc Blast is made in several torso lengths and waist belt sizes rather than offering an adjustable carrying system (take your measurements carefully and always size down if you are at the upper end of a size). The main compartment of the pack holds 45 litres accessed with a roll top closure, giving it an excellent load carrying capacity to weight ratio. The front mesh pocket adds another 8 litres of easy access storage and there are also two handy side pockets to keep everything organised. My only niggle would be that the load lifters tend to release during the course of the day and need regular adjustment but, this is a small issue given how well it deals with everything else.
▶ Verdict: A great pack that should be considered by anyone looking to lighten their load.
▶ Best for: Long distance thru hiking where every gram counts.
