This lightweight layer is thin but adds much needed warmth on cold days. It is supposed to generate up to 3°C more heat, and while that specific temperature wasn’t proven, it works well as a stand-alone outer layer on warmer days or as part of a layering system. The full zip allows you to adjust your temperature and the zip pulls were a good size for use with gloves. The sleeves were an excellent length for a women’s jacket with thumb loops to keep them in place and wrists warm. It packs away easily into its pocket so it can be stowed in a pack and there is a hanging loop, which is great for attaching to your harness when climbing. With continued use while wearing a rucksack there was some bobbling that started to occur where the straps rubbed. It washed well and retained its shape.
