The pervading feeling I get when donning a pair of these boots is comfort. They are lined with foam cushioning in key areas including the instep, tongue, ankle and foot bed. This felt luxurious and stopped pressure spots developing so my feet didn’t ache even after a long day in the mountains. The boots have a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, which kept my feet dry, warm and cosy. The sole gives superb grip and kept me stable on a variety of terrain. The lacing system starts lower down the boot than the others on test meaning the laces are longer, which was sometimes fiddly. Overall, a very reasonable price for a pair of boots that feel like a pair of gloves. Weight 620g per boot, B1 rated.
VERDICT: Their great fit means exceptional comfort and performance.
BEST FOR: Walking anywhere in the mountains, including long distances.
