The pervading feeling I get wearing the Trango Tower GTX boots is confidence. Developed out of the Brand’s ‘Evo’ product, the Trango are similarly light, responsive and comfortable. I trusted them underfoot knowing they would provide good traction and wouldn’t slip. They are crampon compatible, so you’ll get lots of use out of them in winter too. The white, water repellent fabric makes them very visible, be prepared for comments about your ‘jazz shoes’ and ‘roller boots’ but at least you’ll want to clean them immediately after a day in the mountains. Expensive, but very reliable. 576g per boot, B2 rated.
VERDICT: Confidence and comfort combined.
BEST FOR: Perfect for summer and winter ascents.
