Home Kids Kit Jack Wolfskin Grow Up Sleeping Bag

Jack Wolfskin Grow Up Sleeping Bag

£40 www.jack-wolfskin.co.uk

It’s the second time we’ve reviewed this now, and my high opinion of it hasn’t changed over the long term. It’s a summer weight, synthetic sleeping bag for kids, designed with their first few years of adventures in mind. Those first trips are likely to be limited to the warmer months, and the Microguard insulation here is more than up to that job. The bag extends from 140-170cm, with the extra length concealed in a zippered enclosure in the foot, which provides additional insulation to keep smaller legs cosy and allows for growth later on. There’s an internal pocket (useful for torches or cuddly toys) and a fully adjustable hood. The outer fabric is easily wiped down and the whole thing is machine washable. There’s a funky ant design on the front, and our daughter gets really excited when it comes out of the gear closet – it means it’s camping time! It’s not lightweight at about 700g, but the price and design are excellent.

VERDICT: Great balance between value and quality, and a design that will grow with them.

BEST FOR: Summer use and first camping trips.
