As the price would suggest it’s a fairly basic walking shoe but it does represent great value for money. With a cushioned EVA midsole, and a waterproof membrane, it certainly does the job on easy trails and for general outdoors use. The outsole doesn’t have as good a tread as the others tested – there are no defined lugs adding grip, just a series of shallow ribs and ridges. For this reason it doesn’t feel as secure as I’d like on inclines and slippy sections. It’s a very wide, but short fit, with a basic lacing system that doesn’t give much adjustment so it felt baggy around the instep despite the snug toe box. As an entry-level hiking shoe, on simple terrain, it’s ideal, if the fit works for you, but for rougher trails I’d prefer a better tread as a minimum.
