At 360g the fabric is a good balance between durability and weight, thick enough for tough trails but not too heavy. It is synthetic but feels like cotton and dried quickly when wet. The Mid II Fjell Pants are also stretchy and comfortable allowing ease of movement. There was no sagging after several days consecutive wear. The ankles have an adjustable draw cord to tighten them to your boot, but the stitching came loose on both after tightening, which was disappointing. The button closure with a standard waist belt allows you to fit the trousers to your waist, although the Mid II Fjell pants fit my curvy frame very well. The waist pockets are uncomfortable to use as they open from the top and are not angled from the side like other pockets, but they are a good size. The generous pocket on each leg is easily capable of taking a smart phone or small map. There is an additional well-sized pocket on the back. All pocket zips have an additional toggle to aid use with cold or gloved hands.
► Verdict: A comfortable design with durable fabric.
► Best for: Any trekking in moderate to warm climates.
