Bottoms £35, Tops £60 www.fallbay.com
Alongside the wild swimming and SUP booms, there has been a wonderful revival of swimwear craft in Britain, and Carys Griffiths is one of the rising stars of this movement. Based in South Wales, she is a surfer with a background in fine art, garment construction, fashion design and photography, who has combined all her skills into a business. When it arrives, the swimwear is beautiful with its prints designed by Carys. The fabric – recycled nylon, 79% of which is made from discarded fishing nets – is very soft and stretchy, and feels very durable. The seams are extremely strong and neat. Everything is shaped well to avoid any chafing, and to keep everything in while also being comfy and looking good. The high waist bottoms combined with the cropped rash vest makes a distinctive, attractive and practical combination, which keeps the wind and sun off – ideal for riding a SUP.
▶Verdict: Beautiful, beautifully made and will last a lifetime.
▶Best for: Those looking to buy environmentally-friendly swimwear, which is also good-looking, durable and distinctive.
